Dresden Christmas Market

The Dresden Striezelmarkt is not only Germany’s oldest Christmas market but also one of its most charming. Dating back to 1434, it takes place every winter in Dresden’s historic Altmarkt Square, surrounded by Baroque architecture and glowing Christmas trees. Visitors can taste the city’s famous Stollen fruitcake, watch traditional wood-carvers from the Erzgebirge mountains, and explore over 200 beautifully decorated stalls. The atmosphere is filled with the scent of roasted almonds and mulled wine, making the Striezelmarkt a true celebration of Saxon tradition and festive spirit.
